Details: The mission of the Pittsylvania County Community Action is to increase awareness about poverty and to promote comprehensive approaches to eliminate conditions that cause poverty by: promoting self-sufficiency of individuals, families, communities; creating services to meet basic needs; advocating on behalf of the poor; promoting long range reforms; promoting innovating and creative strategies; working in partnership with community based organizations; mobilizing all public and private resources; stimulating community participation and leadership development; establishing equal opportunities and political, economic and social justice. And through these efforts improving the quality of life in communities throughout our service area.
